Make the holiday season more creative with these Christmas emotion puppets, a printable paper craft featuring a cheerful Christmas tree and a smiling gingerbread person. Designed for children ages 4–8, this Christmas craft combines festive characters with expressive faces, making it a fun option for holiday crafting at home, in preschool, or in the classroom.
These Christmas paper puppets feature two recognizable holiday designs: a decorated green Christmas tree and an orange gingerbread character wearing a red scarf. Their illustrated faces and festive details give each character its own personality. Children can create the paper figures and use the finished puppets for imaginative play, seasonal storytelling, or a Christmas craft display.
A Christmas Paper Craft for Kids
Looking for a Christmas activity that goes beyond coloring a picture? These printable Christmas puppets give children a festive project to cut out and assemble. The tree and gingerbread designs offer a playful way to bring holiday characters to life through a hands-on paper craft.
Use the puppets as part of a Christmas craft afternoon, a preschool holiday activity, a kindergarten seasonal craft, or a creative homeschool project. They can also inspire simple storytelling: children can give the characters different expressions, invent holiday adventures, or use them as props while talking about Christmas.
Creative Play with Christmas Characters
The emotion-themed faces make these puppets especially suitable for pretend play and simple character-based storytelling. Children can imagine what the Christmas tree or gingerbread character might be feeling and create their own festive scenes.
Parents and teachers can introduce the finished characters during a holiday activity session or incorporate them into a Christmas-themed creative corner. The puppets can also be displayed as part of a collection of handmade seasonal crafts.
