7 Fun and Easy Mother's Day Crafts for Kids to Make

With Mother's Day just around the corner, it's time to start thinking about the perfect way to celebrate with your little ones. How about making some fun and easy Mother's Day crafts together? In this article  we'll show you how to create 7 different crafts that are perfect for kids between the ages of 5-7. From handprint flower bouquets to butterfly handprint cards, these crafts are not only fun and easy to make, but they also provide a meaningful way for your children to show their love and appreciation for you.

Handprint Flower Bouquet

Materials needed:

• Template by Mr. Mintz (download)
• Washable paint in different colors
• White or colored paper
• Marker

Instructions:
1. Lay down a piece of paper to protect the work surface.

2. Have the child dip their hand in paint and create handprints on our template.

3. Repeat with different colors to create a bouquet of flowers.

4. Once the paint dries, take a marker and write the child's name and the current year.

Flower Pot Painting

Materials needed:


• Terracotta flower pot
• Acrylic paint in different colors
• Paintbrush
• Soil and flower of choice (optional)

Instructions:

1. Lay down a piece of paper to protect the work surface.

2. Have the child paint the terracotta flower pot with acrylic paint. They can create a pattern or design of their choice.

3. Allow the pot to dry completely.

4. If desired, fill the pot with soil and plant a flower.


Paper Plate Flower

Materials needed:


• Paper plate
• Washable paint in different colors
• Green construction paper or paint
• Scissors
• Glue

Instructions:

1. Cut the paper plate in half.

2. Have the child paint each half with washable paint in different colors to create a flower pattern.

3. Once the paint dries, cut out a stem and leaves from green construction paper or paint them onto the paper.

4. Glue the stem and leaves to the back of the paper plate.

Paper Flower Card

Materials needed:


• Construction paper in different colors
• Scissors
• Glue

Instructions:

1. Fold a piece of construction paper in half and draw a flower shape on the folded edge.

2. Cut out the flower shape and unfold the paper.

3. Cut out another flower shape from a different color of construction paper.

4. Fold the second flower shape in half and glue it onto the first flower shape, only along the center. This will create a 3D effect.

5. Glue the flower onto a blank card and add a message inside.


Fingerprint Dandelion Art

Materials needed:


• Template by Mr. Mintz (download)
• Washable paint or paint or ink pads in different colors
• White or colored paper
• Frame (optional)

Instructions:

2. Lay down a piece of paper to protect the work surface.
3. Using a thumb or fingertip, gently dip a finger into paint and press it onto each dandelion seedhead.
4. Use your imagination to create the rainbow dandelion of your dreams!
5. Once the paint dries, frame the artwork (optional).


"I Love You Because" Jar

Materials needed:


• Small jar
• Paint, stickers, or markers
• Small pieces of paper
• Pen or pencil

Instructions:

1. Have the child decorate the jar with paint, stickers, or markers.

2. Write "I Love You Because" on the jar.

3. Cut small pieces of paper and have the child write reasons why they love their mom on each piece of paper.

4. Fold the papers and fill the jar with them.

 Mother's Day Coupon Book 

Materials:

• Mother's Day coupon book template (instant download)
• Scissors
• Hole puncher
• Ribbon
• Pencil or pen

Directions:

1. Print out the Christmas coupon book template. I recommend using cardstock paper if you have them around to make the coupon book more professional-looking and durable.
2. Cut out the individual coupons and the cover with scissors.
3. Fill in what the coupons are redeemable for in the spaces provided.
4. Stack them up nicely with the cover on top. Punch two holes in the green border.
5. Tie the coupons together with a ribbon. You can staple the edges together as well if you don’t have a hole punch.
6. When redeeming a coupon, cut each coupon out. Ripping the coupon out may damage the rest of the coupon book.
